Without Stillwater's engineering, the Lost Team would not have survived long enough for a rescue attempt.

Stillwater stayed during the Episode 52 extraction because the people left inside depended on the systems he had built. He had patched together shelter, water, power, and containment well enough to keep them alive, and he chose their survival over his own extraction. Never a toy figure. Reserved for "Downland" novel material, where his decision to stay and what happened to him afterward are explored.
