Abstract
Declassified Sector files revealed that a military team had entered an Axis gate in the late 1970s and never returned. The gate sealed behind them and they were presumed dead. But the Wakefinder was picking up what might have been a signal from the other side. Faint, intermittent, and years old. Someone was apparently still alive.

A direct connection to the "Downland" novel. The Lost Team felt real through names in old files, mission patches, and a medical officer's handwriting, all appearing before any of the characters showed up on screen.
