ENIGMA major operation. Artificial gate attempt.
Abstract
ENIGMA launched coordinated operations at four gate sites simultaneously while Vesper conducted her most ambitious experiment at a fifth, an attempt to create an artificial permanent gate. The experiment partially worked and partially failed catastrophically, proving that artificial gates were possible but dangerously unstable.

Full deployment on both sides at a scale meant to set up the movie's endgame. Vesper's partial success was almost more frightening than a clean failure, because it meant the technology was reachable with enough resources and willingness to accept casualties.
